Cloud Engineer

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our growing engineering team at RFactorial. In this role, you will design, build, and operate the infrastructure powering our AI and cloud orchestration platform across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.

The ideal candidate is a proactive engineer with strong expertise in Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, networking, and distributed systems. You should be comfortable working across the infrastructure stack—from compute and networking to storage and automation—and be capable of building scalable, reliable platforms for modern AI workloads.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and operate multi-cluster Kubernetes environments.
• Develop infrastructure across cloud, on-premises, and virtualized environments.
• Build systems for cluster provisioning, workload scheduling, isolation, and autoscaling.
• Design and maintain infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code.
• Work across the infrastructure stack, including servers, networking, storage, containers, and orchestration platforms.
• Optimize infrastructure performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate closely with backend, platform, and AI engineering teams.
• Contribute to infrastructure architecture, technical discussions, and engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot production infrastructure issues and continuously improve platform reliability.
• Contribute to documentation, automation, and operational excellence.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in cloud or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, and distributed systems.
• Experience designing and managing cloud, on-premises, or hybrid infrastructure.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
• Good understanding of networking concepts, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and datacenter networking.
• Familiarity with server hardware, virtualization, and infrastructure components.
• Understanding of storage technologies, including distributed storage, object storage, and network-attached storage.
• Experience with Git and collaborative engineering workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting, automation, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with GPU infrastructure and the NVIDIA ecosystem.
• Knowledge of high-performance networking technologies such as InfiniBand.
• Experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as Argo Workflows or Apache Airflow.
• Familiarity with distributed storage platforms such as Ceph.
• Relevant networking certifications such as CCNP or equivalent experience.
