Ensure optimal Radio Access Network performance by continuously monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing coverage, capacity, quality, and user experience across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks while achieving business, regulatory, and service quality targets.
Continuously improve network and operational excellence through proactive performance optimization, root cause analysis, technology enhancement, automation, and effective management of network resources, vendors, and optimization processes.
Support sustainable network growth and customer satisfaction by delivering data-driven optimization solutions, ensuring regulatory compliance, enabling efficient capacity planning, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maximize network performance and return on investment.
Roles & Responsibilities
Continuously monitor and improve Radio Access Network (RAN) KPIs, ensuring QoS and GoS targets across accessibility, retainability, mobility, and integrity; proactively identify required capacity upgrades to support CS and PS traffic demand; and maintain standardized performance reporting, analysis, and compilation of network performance reports across vendors.
Identify, analyze, and resolve network degradations, including coverage issues, Worst Performing Cells (including CS/PS sleeping cells), and down sites through root cause analysis, escalation, and end-to-end follow-up until resolution.
Perform site and sector redesigns for new deployments, site removals, prolonged outages, and periodic city-level optimization to ensure sustained network performance.
Provide timely and accurate input for CRA escalations and license obligation compliance, and support the Radio Support team in resolving customer complaints and ensuring fulfillment of regulatory commitments.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and RAN advancements in GSM, UMTS, LTE, and NR; research, evaluate, test, and implement relevant protocols, features, and optimization strategies to enhance network quality, performance, efficiency, and profitability.
Optimize interworking across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies by defining and auditing neighbor relations and continuously tuning network parameters for seamless multi-technology operation.
Maintain the accuracy of optimization databases by updating affected systems and performing regular discrepancy checks to ensure data integrity across the radio network.
Propose high-value sites, sectors, and network layers to the Radio Planning team to enhance network coverage and capacity while maximizing return on investment and minimizing resource additions.
Ensure the integrity and consistency of radio network cell parameters (redlines and baselines) across all technologies across the radio network.
Monitor vendors’ and contractors’ performance, ensuring compliance with KPIs, SLAs, license obligations, and optimization standards, and drive corrective actions where required.
Review radio network settings, optimization strategies, and resource utilization, and initiate improvements, including resource re-shuffling activities to enhance radio network design, performance, and capacity utilization.
Plan, implement, monitor, and optimize coverage and capacity solutions for events and seasonal demand, including transmission bottlenecks escalation and coordination of COW/COL deployments with the planning team.
Conduct analysis and optimization of frequency, PSC, and PCI planning; identify external interference issues; drive-test-based activities; and coordinate corrective actions and regulatory reporting to improve radio network performance and quality.
Review site relocations, RF installation designs, and proposed site configurations, and comment on new locations based on available information and performance to ensure coverage, quality, capacity, and ROI objectives are achieved.
Define requirements, support development, and test optimization tools and automation solutions, ensuring improved efficiency of radio optimization processes.
Job Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Systems (Telecommunication Management / Information Technology) or related.
Experience
At least 3 years of experience in Radio Network planning and optimization, with 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G experience.
Experience working in a medium to large organization.
