NikAndish is a growing Fintech & Cryptocurrency company building reliable, scalable, and secure financial infrastructure.
We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer with strong experience in PHP and Laravel who enjoys solving real-world engineering problems, improving existing systems, and learning modern technologies.
You will work closely with backend and frontend developers, product teams, and other engineers to build and maintain services that need to be reliable, secure, performant, and maintainable.
We are also embracing the rapidly changing world of AI-assisted software development. Experience with AI coding assistants, coding agents, or AI-powered development workflows is a strong plus. We value developers who know how to use these tools effectively while still understanding, reviewing, testing, and taking ownership of the code they produce.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve backend services and APIs using PHP and Laravel.
• Design and implement clean, maintainable, and scalable backend solutions.
• Work with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, including database design, indexing, queries, transactions, and performance optimization.
• Build and integrate REST APIs and backend services used by frontend applications and other internal services.
• Write clean, readable, testable, and maintainable code.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
• Write and maintain automated tests and help improve our testing strategy.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and other team members to deliver features efficiently.
• Understand existing systems and gradually contribute to improving their architecture, including modular monoliths, service-oriented architectures, and microservices where appropriate.
• Work with asynchronous and distributed systems where required, including technologies such as Redis, RabbitMQ, and message-driven architectures.
• Take ownership of assigned features from implementation through testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong professional experience with PHP and Laravel.
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and software design principles.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, particularly MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of database design, indexing, transactions, query optimization, and data consistency.
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests.
• Familiarity with Git and modern software development workflows.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and continuously improve engineering practices.

Nice to Have

• Experience building event-driven or distributed systems.
• Experience with microservices or service-oriented architectures.
• Experience working in Fintech, payments, cryptocurrency, banking, or other financial systems.
• Experience with Go or Node.js.
• Experience with tools such as AI coding assistants and coding agents.
