Job Description
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on Database Administration (DBA) who can take ownership of production infrastructure, optimize and maintain databases at scale, and play an active role in system architecture and reliability.
What You’ll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available production infrastructure, with a strong focus on reliability and performance
- Manage and optimize PostgreSQL and MySQL, including troubleshooting performance issues, bottlenecks, and complex queries
- Design and implement backup & recovery, replication, failover, and disaster recovery strategies
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and containerized services using Docker and, when required, Kubernetes
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting across infrastructure and databases
- Collaborate closely with development teams on system architecture, performance optimization, and service reliability
- Automate infrastructure and database operations while maintaining clear technical documentation and knowledge-sharing practices
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or a similar role
- Strong expertise in Linux administration
- Deep, hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL and MySQL in production environments
- Strong knowledge of query optimization, index design, execution plan analysis, vacuum/analyze, partitioning, and connection pooling
- Hands-on experience with replication, backup & recovery, and database performance tuning
- Strong experience with Docker and Docker Compose, plus GitLab CI/CD or similar tools
- Solid knowledge of Redis, Nginx, and reverse proxy
- Proficiency in Bash or Python for automation
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or ELK
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and database issues
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for production services
- Good documentation and knowledge-sharing skills, with a mindset of continuous learning
- Ability to effectively leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, or Windsurf for troubleshooting, automation, analysis, and productivity
- Experience designing and deploying PostgreSQL clusters using Patroni, Pgpool-II, or similar tools
- Experience managing hundreds of GBs to multi-TB databases
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Ansible
- Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka
- Familiarity with VoIP, SIP, or Asterisk
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OpenStack
