The Product Owner is responsible for translating product goals and customer needs into clear, actionable requirements and a prioritized Product Backlog. This role works closely with Product Managers, stakeholders, Engineering, and Design teams to ensure effective product delivery, continuous improvement, and alignment between business value, user needs, and technical feasibility.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the Product Backlog, ensuring it is clearly defined, prioritized, refined, and aligned with product goals and business needs.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, business stakeholders, engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to translate product goals and customer needs into clear and actionable requirements.
• Define, write, and maintain User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and functional requirements, ensuring the development team has a clear understanding of expected outcomes.
• Prioritize backlog items based on business value, customer impact, dependencies, technical considerations, and available resources.
• Work closely with engineering and design teams throughout the development lifecycle to clarify requirements, answer questions, resolve ambiguities, and support effective delivery.
• Participate actively in Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, providing the necessary product context and decisions to the development team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, analyze, and prioritize product and feature requirements, ensuring alignment and transparency throughout the delivery process.
• Review and validate delivered features against defined requirements and acceptance criteria, providing timely feedback and ensuring that the final product meets the expected quality and business needs.
• Support the team in identifying and removing product-related impediments, managing dependencies, and facilitating effective decision-making to ensure smooth delivery.
• Monitor product and feature performance using qualitative and quantitative data, user feedback, and relevant product metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Contribute to quarterly product goals by translating high-level objectives into actionable backlog items and measurable outcomes.
• Maintain clear and transparent communication regarding backlog priorities, upcoming features, changes, and delivery expectations with relevant stakeholders.
• Continuously develop knowledge of customer needs, user behavior, industry trends, and emerging technologies to contribute to informed product decisions and continuous product improvement.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Software Analyst, or in equivalent product-related roles.
• Proven experience working closely with software development teams in an Agile environment.
• Hands-on experience in Product Backlog management, requirements analysis, User Story creation, prioritization, and feature delivery.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Design, Business, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum principles, practices, and software development lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of Product Backlog management, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and backlog prioritization techniques.
• Understanding of software development processes, architecture concepts, and technical dependencies.
• Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with design teams.
• Ability to analyze customer needs, business requirements, and product data to support informed prioritization and decision-making.
• Proficiency in product and project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Trello, or similar platforms.
• Basic understanding of product analytics and relevant product metrics.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for product outcomes and delivery quality.
