How will you make an impact?
As a Business Data Analyst, you'll play a key role in connecting data with business decisions at Barook. You'll help transform ambiguous business questions into structured analysis, strengthen metric governance, uncover business opportunities, and connect analytical insights to commercial, operational, and P&L outcomes.

 

What you'll do at Barook:

• Translate ambiguous business questions into measurable hypotheses, analytical frameworks, and clear decision criteria
• Define and maintain key business metrics, including calculation logic, ownership, data sources, dimensions, and refresh frequency
• Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify growth opportunities, performance gaps, operational bottlenecks, and emerging business risks
• Analyze the key drivers behind business performance changes, assess their impact on P&L, and provide actionable recommendations
• Apply statistical methods to distinguish correlation from causation and evaluate causal relationships where possible
• Design, analyze, and interpret A/B tests and other experimental or quasi-experimental evaluations when applicable
• Develop dashboards and analytical outputs that support decision-making and ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability of metrics across the organization
• Present analytical findings and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders and challenge assumptions when supported by evidence

You'll thrive in this role if you have:

• Advanced SQL skills and advanced proficiency in Excel
• Strong understanding of business metrics and the ability to connect business actions and analytical findings to commercial, operational, and P&L outcomes
• Strong knowledge of applied statistics, including correlation, causation, hypothesis testing, and statistical significance
• Hands-on experience with A/B testing, experimentation, and impact measurement
• Experience with modern BI and analytics platforms such as Metabase, Superset, Power BI, or similar tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with incomplete or ambiguous requirements
• Strong communication, presentation, and data storytelling skills
