Back-End Intern (PHP / Laravel)

We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented, and driven Back-End Intern to join our engineering team for an intensive, structured 1 to 3 months remote internship. This program is designed to bridge the gap between core programming concepts and production-grade software development through dedicated 1-on-1 technical mentorship, hands-on work on live commercial products, and mastering end-to-end software delivery workflows.
Upon successful completion of the internship, top performers will transition directly into a full-time Back-End Developer position.

Requirements & Technical Stack:
Core Technical Skills:
Strong foundation in modern PHP, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and MVC architectural patterns.
Solid working knowledge of the Laravel framework (routing, controllers, Eloquent ORM, migrations, middleware, and request validation).
Relational database fundamentals (MySQL): designing structured schemas, modeling relationships, and writing clean queries.
Familiarity with RESTful API principles (building clean endpoints, handling JSON responses, and API authentication like Laravel Sanctum).
Version Control: Solid understanding of Git workflows (branching, commits, pull requests, and merge conflict resolution).
Connectivity & Remote Setup:
Stable, high-speed internet connection and an adequate workspace to ensure uninterrupted workflow, smooth Git syncs, and active participation in team syncs.
Reliable development machine capable of running local server environments, databases, and modern IDEs smoothly.
English Proficiency: Upper-Intermediate – ability to read and understand official framework documentation, RFCs, and package references with ease.
Productivity: Effective use of modern development tools and AI coding assistants for debugging and research.
Bonus Points:
Familiarity with Jira (task management, sprint tracking, and ticket workflows).
Basic understanding of Clean Code and SOLID principles.
Familiarity with caching concepts (Redis) or background jobs/queues in Laravel.
Experience testing and documenting APIs with Postman or Swagger.
Responsibilities:
Building, optimizing, and maintaining secure, well-structured RESTful APIs.
Collaborating closely with front-end engineers to ensure seamless API integration.
Actively logging, tracking, and updating assigned tasks and subtasks in Jira.
Participating in daily/weekly syncs, code review cycles, and sprint planning.
Debugging issues, optimizing database queries, and improving backend performance.
Collaborating with the technical lead to deliver production-ready features on schedule.
