Technical Team Lead (Java) – Payment Platform

We are looking for a Technical Lead to lead a cross-functional squad responsible for our fintech payment platform.
The platform enables customers to use a unified multi-asset payment solution to fulfill their day-to-day needs including purchase, transfer, and other payment services.
Responsibilities

• Own the squad’s technical direction, architecture, and engineering quality.
• Design and develop scalable backend services using Java & Spring Boot.
• Lead technical design, code reviews, and key architectural decisions.
• Design reliable financial transaction flows with proper idempotency, consistency, concurrency, retry, and failure handling.
• Work closely with Product, QA, DevOps, Security, and other engineering teams.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and technical debt early.
• Ensure services are observable, secure, testable, and production-ready.
• Lead technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of critical incidents.
• Mentor engineers, delegate technical ownership, and improve the squad’s engineering capability.
• Balance delivery speed with scalability, maintainability, and financial correctness.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and relational databases.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, database transactions, concurrency, and messaging.
• Experience with Redis and messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
• Experience designing and operating production-grade, high-availability backend systems.
• Experience with payment, banking, wallet, card, lending, or other fintech systems is highly preferred.
• Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, communication, mentoring, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and influence the team without becoming a bottleneck.
