Job Description Looking for a Senior 5G Optimization Consultant to lead and execute 5G RAN optimization activities within a complex Multi-Vendor Optimization (MVO) environment.
The role is responsible for monitoring and improving 4G/5G network performance through KPI analysis, parameter tuning, feature trials, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. The consultant will work closely with operator, vendor, transmission, core network, and project teams to ensure optimal network performance and SLA compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end 5G RAN optimization across multi-vendor and multi-layer 4G/5G networks.
Monitor and optimize key KPIs including Accessibility, Retainability, Mobility, Latency, and Throughput (DL/UL).
Perform parameter tuning, feature trials, and baseline optimization.
Conduct advanced RCA and troubleshooting for coverage, interference, handover, throughput, accessibility, and retainability issues.
Analyze network counters, traces, logs, drive test, and scanner data.
Identify and resolve performance issues across LTE and 5G NR.
Collaborate with Transmission/Backhaul and Core Network teams to resolve end-to-end performance and capacity issues.
Prepare technical reports, performance analysis, action plans, and executive-level recommendations.
Act as a 5G technical SME and provide recommendations on feature activation, technology deployment, and spectrum efficiency.
Required Skills
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
5+ years of RF/RAN optimization experience in large-scale commercial networks.
2–3+ years of hands-on 5G NR experience, including NSA and SA.
Proven experience in Multi-Vendor Optimization (MVO) and KPI improvement.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of 5G NR and 3GPP Rel-15/Rel-16+.
Solid understanding of Physical Layer, Beamforming, Massive MIMO, Numerology, and DSS.
Experience with major vendors: Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia, and ZTE.
Good knowledge of vendor OSS platforms such as ENM and U2020/MAE.
Understanding of IP/MPLS, Transmission, Backhaul, latency, packet loss, and capacity.
Proficiency in TEMS, Nemo, and Actix or similar drive-test/post-processing tools.
Experience with KPI/counter analysis, trace/log analysis, OSS scripting, or CLI automation is an advantage.
