Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure the reliable operation of the FTTH/GPON network, including OLT, ONT, PON, and ODN components.
- Analyze and troubleshoot FTTH network faults, alarms, outages, and service-impacting incidents remotely.
- Provide technical support to field maintenance, NOC, Active, Fiber, IP, IPRAN, and Transmission teams.
- Investigate recurring and complex faults and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and preventive actions.
- Analyze OLT/ONT alarms, logs, network performance data, OTDR results, and optical power measurements.
- Support technical configuration, provisioning, and activation of PON services within the approved maintenance scope.
- Coordinate the investigation of fiber and passive network issues, including ODN, fiber links, and distribution infrastructure.
- Escalate complex or cross-domain technical issues to the relevant technical teams and the FTTx Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, troubleshooting activities, technical findings, and corrective actions.
- Prepare technical reports and contribute to network reliability, maintainability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all activities comply with approved technical standards, procedures, customer requirements, and HSE policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in FTTH/FTTx, GPON, fiber optic, or access networks.
- Practical knowledge of OLT, ONT/ONU, PON, ODN, and fiber optic networks.
- Good understanding of Ethernet, VLAN, DHCP, PPPoE, IP addressing, and basic routing.
- Experience with NMS/OSS, network monitoring, and ticketing systems.
- Ability to interpret OTDR traces and optical power measurements.
- Familiarity with OTDR, OPM, OLS, and VFL is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
- English working proficiency for technical documentation and communication.
- Ability to work in shift-based / 24×7 operational environments when required.
