Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain the assigned FTTH/FTTx network to ensure reliability, availability, and service continuity.
- Coordinate with FTTx Active Operations, NOC, Front Office, Back Office, and regional teams for network incidents and technical issues.
- Analyze and troubleshoot fiber optic, ODN, and FTTH network faults using alarms, test results, network records, and technical data.
- Analyze OTDR, OPM, and other fiber test results and identify issues such as attenuation, reflection, excessive loss, and fiber degradation.
- Support network implementation, expansion, modification, testing, commissioning, and technical acceptance activities.
- Review technical designs, drawings, as-built documents, and implementation deliverables and identify technical deviations.
- Coordinate with contractors and field teams and provide technical guidance within the assigned scope.
- Identify recurring technical problems and recommend corrective, preventive, and network improvement actions.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, drawings, inventory, fiber records, and technical information.
- Ensure all activities comply with approved technical standards, procedures, HSE requirements, and organizational policies.
- Escalate major technical risks, unresolved issues, and significant deviations to the Regional Team Leader / FTTx Manager.
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 35 years of relevant experience in FTTH/FTTx, fiber optic, or telecom network operations and maintenance.
- Knowledge of FTTH/ODN network architecture, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Experience with OTDR, OPM, OLS, VFL, fiber inspection, and fusion splicing equipment.
- Familiarity with GIS, network inventory, OSS, and network assurance systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and technical decision-making skills.
