The System Administrator is responsible for designing, deploying, securing, and maintaining enterprise IT infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and robust security through proactive monitoring, rigorous patch management, OS hardening, and efficient administration of Windows and Linux environments in an enterprise operational setting.

Responsibilities:

• System Administration: Provision, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers, virtual machines, and core infrastructure services.
• Security & Hardening: Implement and maintain operating system and service hardening standards according to security best practices (e.g., CIS benchmarks).
• Patch Management: Manage the end-to-end patch management lifecycle for all operating systems and critical software to mitigate security vulnerabilities.
• Proactive Monitoring: Continuously monitor system performance, applications, and network services using enterprise tools to ensure maximum uptime.
• Incident Response: Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve technical incidents in real time to minimize service disruptions.
• Identity & Access Management: Administer directory services, including Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), DNS, and DHCP.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of system configurations, hardening procedures, troubleshooting steps, and incident reports.
• Reporting: Generate regular reports on system performance, security compliance, and incident trends for management review.
• Automation: Develop and implement scripts to automate routine administrative tasks and deployment processes.
• On-Call Support: Be available for on-call support to resolve emergency incidents.

Experience:

• Proven experience as a System Administrator or Infrastructure Engineer in an enterprise environment.
• Hands-on experience managing mission-critical, large-scale infrastructure in an operational setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in incident management, system troubleshooting, and proactive performance tuning.

Requirements:

• OS Expertise: Deep knowledge of Windows Server and Linux (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Security Proficiency: Strong understanding of OS hardening, access control (RBAC), and vulnerability management/patching workflows.
• Monitoring Tools: Proficiency in configuring and managing enterprise monitoring stacks (e.g., Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack).
• Virtualization: Practical experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, or KVM).
• Networking Knowledge: Solid understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, SNMP, NTP, and Syslog).
• Scripting & Automation: Ability to write and maintain automation scripts using Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
• Containerization: Familiarity with Docker and containerized application environments.
• Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams.
