Responsibilities:

• Excellent communication skills and an innate curiosity. You relentlessly ask questions to uncover the root cause and the bigger picture.
• Help your team gather information and influence to make informed decisions.
• Negotiate roadmaps and project scopes, provide accurate estimates, and commit to agreed-upon deadlines.
• Design high-throughput and low-latency solutions based on Aban’s event-driven architecture.
• Document important decisions, trade-offs, service layout, and events in a request for comment and ask technical chapter members for their opinion.
• Develop simple, modular, evolvable, testable, and observable code for your designed solution.
• Conduct manual and automated tests on local, sandbox, and staging environments before deploying to production.
• Create monitoring dashboards, CI/CD pipelines, and identify key metrics.
• Closely monitor services after the project's initial launch for an extended period.
• Address reported issues with a red, green, blue mentality, utilizing both automated and manual tests across all environments. Follow up with the reporter to make sure the issue is resolved.
• Propose non-functional improvements or projects to increase performance, throughput, security, reliability, fault tolerance, availability, observability, and cohesion, or decrease latency and coupling.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• At least 4+ years of experience in development and coding with one of Python, Go, JS, PHP, Java, or C#.
• At least 2+ years of leading a technical team.
• Deep understanding of Software Engineering principles, concepts, and techniques (e.g., DDD, Clean Architecture, EDA, TDD, SOLID, Design Patterns, KISS, YAGNI, Observability).
• Experience working with a variety of databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) for efficient data reads and writes.
• Experience developing with async programming, procedures, and platforms or event-driven architectures (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Experience designing and developing scalable microservices.
• Experience with service maintenance using monitoring tools and cross-functional collaborations.
