We are currently looking for a talented Field Application Scientist – Molecular Genetics & Genomics to join our growing Application team. The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical and scientific support to customers, perform instrument and assay setup, conduct training, troubleshoot application-related issues, support pre-sales activities, and contribute to the development of new applications and solutions.

Key Responsibilities
• Install laboratory instruments and set up kits, assays, and panels.
• Perform molecular biology and genetic tests using advanced laboratory instruments, with a primary focus on NGS, Sanger Sequencing, NIPT, Real-Time PCR, Digital PCR, and other molecular genetics applications.
• Support the implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting of NGS workflows, as well as other molecular testing technologies.
• Troubleshoot laboratory instruments, assays, and workflows by systematically analyzing technical problems, identifying root causes, and developing practical solutions.
• Perform quality control (QC), performance verification, and calibration procedures for molecular genetics and genomics instruments, both within the company and at customer sites, in accordance with relevant manufacturer specifications, technical procedures, and quality requirements.
• Evaluate instrument performance following installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, or calibration activities and accurately document QC and calibration results.
• Provide scientific and technical support to customers, including clinical laboratories, research institutes, universities, and other scientific organizations.
• Train customers and sales team members on the operation, applications, and proper use of laboratory instruments, kits, and technologies.
• Support pre-sales activities through technical discussions, product demonstrations, scientific presentations, and application-related consultation.
• Work closely with the Sales team to understand customer needs and translate them into appropriate technical and application solutions.
• Participate in customer meetings and provide scientific and technical consultation based on their application requirements.
• Research and evaluate new technologies, kits, applications, and solutions to address specific customer needs and support the development of the company's product portfolio.
• Travel to customer sites and other locations as required for instrument installation, quality control and calibration, training, troubleshooting, and on-site application support. Required business travel will be fully organized by the company, including transportation and accommodation arrangements where applicable.
• Maintain continuous communication with customers and follow up on technical and application-related issues through to resolution.
• Document application activities, troubleshooting processes, experimental results, and customer-related technical issues accurately.
• Read and understand specialized scientific literature, technical manuals, application notes, and other English-language materials, and participate in relevant workshops, webinars, and training programs.
• Stay informed about emerging sequencing technologies, including Third-Generation / Long-Read Sequencing, and contribute to the evaluation and development of new applications and solutions.
• Continuously develop technical expertise in Real-Time PCR, NGS, Sanger Sequencing, Digital PCR, and emerging sequencing technologies.
• Develop the technical and commercial knowledge required to take responsibility for an assigned Product Line as part of future professional growth within the Application team.

Qualifications
Education
Master's degree or PhD in Genetics, Molecular Genetics, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biology, Immunology, Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, or another related Life Sciences discipline.

Experience
• Hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology, molecular genetics, or related laboratory applications is mandatory.
• Practical hands-on experience with Real-Time PCR or other molecular biology techniques is considered a significant advantage.
• Previous hands-on experience with NGS is considered an advantage but is not mandatory.
• Experience with Sanger Sequencing, Digital PCR, or other molecular testing technologies is considered an advantage.
• Familiarity with Third-Generation / Long-Read Sequencing is considered an advantage.
• Practical technical skills, problem-solving ability, curiosity, and willingness to learn new technologies are considered more important than the number of years of work experience.
• Previous experience with instrument quality control, performance verification, calibration, or related laboratory quality procedures is considered an advantage.

Technical Skills
• Strong practical knowledge of molecular biology and laboratory workflows.
• Hands-on experience with Real-Time PCR and molecular biology techniques.
• Familiarity with NGS workflows and sequencing technologies is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Sanger Sequencing, Digital PCR, and/or Third-Generation / Long-Read Sequencing is an advantage.
• Ability to operate, optimize, troubleshoot, and support laboratory instruments and application workflows.
• Ability to perform and document routine quality control, performance verification, and calibration procedures for molecular genetics and genomics instruments.
• Ability to develop, write, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for laboratory instruments, assays, workflows, and quality control procedures.
• Ability to systematically analyze technical and application-related problems, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions.
• Awareness of laboratory quality control principles and the importance of accuracy, reproducibility, and reliable results.
• Understanding of the importance of calibration, traceability, documentation, acceptance criteria, and compliance with manufacturer-recommended procedures in maintaining reliable instrument performance.
• Ability to understand technical manuals, application notes, scientific literature, and product documentation in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to prepare and deliver clear scientific and technical presentations to customers and internal teams.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and effectively transfer technical knowledge to customers and internal teams.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1 level) with the ability to communicate effectively in professional and scientific discussions.
