Senior Backend Developer

About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our engineering team and take ownership of designing, developing, and improving our backend services.
In this role, you will work on scalable backend systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures while playing a key role in technical decision-making, system design, code quality, and engineering best practices.
This is a technical Individual Contributor role with no direct people-management responsibility. However, you will act as a technical reference for the Backend domain and contribute to code reviews, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and architectural decisions.

What You'll Do
Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js, NestJS, and Express.js
Design and develop RESTful APIs and, when required, GraphQL APIs
Design and implement services based on Microservices Architecture
Build and maintain event-driven systems
Contribute to backend architecture using Clean Architecture, SOLID, and Modular Design
Design and implement Authentication & Authorization mechanisms, including JWT, OAuth2, and RBAC
Design, optimize, and maintain databases and queries
Integrate internal services and third-party APIs
Implement and improve logging, monitoring, error handling, and observability
Identify and resolve issues related to performance, security, reliability, and scalability
Conduct code reviews and help maintain high engineering standards
Mentor and support Junior and Mid-Level Backend Developers
Participate in technical design and backend architecture decisions
Collaborate closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and Engineering teams
Write and maintain unit and integration tests
Contribute to technical documentation and engineering best practices

What We're Looking For
Strong professional and production experience with Node.js
Solid hands-on experience with NestJS and Express.js
Proven experience designing and building microservices
Professional experience with event-driven architecture
Strong understanding of modular architecture and dependency injection in NestJS
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and SQL Server
Experience with MongoDB and Redis
Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka
Experience with Redis Pub/Sub
Practical experience with Authentication & Authorization, including JWT, OAuth2, and RBAC
Experience with Docker and familiarity with Kubernetes
Experience or familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry
Understanding of high availability and horizontal scaling
Strong understanding of Clean Architecture and SOLID principles
Experience with unit and integration testing
Experience working in collaborative engineering teams and participating in code reviews

Nice to Have
Hands-on experience with event sourcing
Professional experience with Kubernetes
Experience working with high-traffic or distributed systems
Experience optimizing the performance and reliability of production services
Experience designing and implementing highly available systems at scale
Experience with complex production environments and mission-critical services
