Job Description
The IP Engineer is responsible for maintaining the stability, availability, performance, and security of the IP network. The role involves network configuration, advanced troubleshooting, performance optimization, capacity planning, and supporting network upgrades and lifecycle management.
Job Responsibilities

• Configure, implement, and maintain L2/L3 network services and routing protocols, including BGP and OSPF.
• Configure and troubleshoot MPLS, L2VPN, and L3VPN services.
• Monitor and analyze network performance and KPIs and implement optimization measures.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for complex network incidents.
• Analyze network traffic and packets using tools such as Wireshark.
• Implement network security policies, including ACLs, firewall rules, and control-plane protection.
• Support network capacity planning, expansion, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Maintain network topology, configuration baselines, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Core, RAN, Transmission, and Operations teams to resolve technical issues and network incidents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3 years of relevant experience in IP networking, preferably within the telecom or ISP industry.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, L2VPN, and L3VPN.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP, QoS, and traffic engineering.
• Hands-on experience with carrier-grade routers and switches.
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as eSight, U2000, PRTG, or SolarWinds.
• Proficiency in network troubleshooting and packet analysis using Wireshark.
• Familiarity with Python and network automation is an advantage.
• HCIP-Datacom or CCNP certification is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure during critical network incidents.
• Willingness to participate in on-call, field/site work, and occasional weekend or holiday support.
