Role Overview
SnappCarfix is hiring a Mid-Level QA Engineer to own the quality of our automotive services marketplace across web and backend. You will combine hands-on manual testing with building and maintaining automated tests in TypeScript, working inside our product teams.
Our stack is Node.js / TypeScript on the backend and React / Next.js / TypeScript on the frontend, so you will write tests in the same language our developers use.
What You Will Do
• Review user stories and acceptance criteria and raise gaps before development starts.
• Design and run test cases for new features, covering positive, negative, and edge cases.
• Perform exploratory and regression testing on web and mobile web, across browsers and screen sizes.
• Test REST APIs directly: requests, responses, status codes, validation, authentication, and data in the database.
• Write and maintain automated E2E and API tests in Playwright with TypeScript.
• Run automated tests in the CI pipeline on every merge request and keep them stable and fast.
• Investigate and fix flaky tests at the root cause, not with extra waits.
• Write clear bug reports with steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual results, logs, and screenshots.
• Verify fixes and run release checks before deployment to production.
• Work with developers to improve testability, such as adding stable test IDs and test data endpoints.
What We Are Looking For
Experience
• At least 2 years of experience in software QA, including at least 1 year writing automated tests.
• Experience testing web applications and REST APIs in an Agile/Scrum team.
Testing skills
• Solid knowledge of testing fundamentals: test levels, test types, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing.
• Test design techniques such as boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, and decision tables.
• Strong bug reporting skills and the ability to judge severity and priority.
Technical skills
• Good JavaScript and working knowledge of TypeScript, especially async/await and Promises.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright (or Cypress, with willingness to move to Playwright).
• API testing with Postman, Insomnia, or similar, and automated API tests in code.
• Comfortable with browser DevTools: network requests, console errors, and storage.
• Basic SQL to check and prepare test data.
• Git basics: branches, commits, and merge requests.
• Experience running tests in a CI pipeline such as GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
