Overview:
We’re seeking a BI Developer to build the foundation for reporting and decision-making by designing scalable data models, developing reliable ETL pipelines, optimizing SQL/DAX performance, and delivering intuitive dashboards and reports. This role emphasizes establishing consistent, reusable metrics; producing clear documentation; and ensuring fast, accurate, trusted BI across diverse data sources.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and optimize Microsoft SQL Server environments, including availability, indexing (rebuild/reorganize), partitioning strategies, and data type/storage optimization.
• Design, build, and document dimensional data models (Star Schemas), including data dictionaries, metadata catalogs, and standardized metric definitions.
• Develop, enhance, and refactor ETL pipelines using SSIS and Python; improve modularity, naming standards, monitoring, and error handling.
• Ingest and harmonize data from multiple sources such as data warehouses, ClickHouse, APIs (e.g., Google APIs), SharePoint, web-crawled/external data, and NoSQL systems.
• Design, develop, and tune SSAS Tabular models; refactor and optimize DAX, enforce consistent naming conventions, and align models with upstream transformations.
• Write and optimize complex T-SQL queries; analyze execution plans and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Build intuitive dashboards and reports using Power BI (and SSRS when needed) to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Troubleshoot and improve end-to-end BI performance (data refresh, model processing, query latency, and report responsiveness).
• Ensure BI assets are well-documented, discoverable, and consistent for ongoing analytics and future automation/AI use cases.

Qualifications:

• Practical experience in business intelligence, data modeling, analytics engineering, or data warehousing.
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL, query optimization, indexing strategies, and database performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft BI stack: SQL Server, SSIS, and SSAS Tabular.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling (Star Schema), relational design, and normalization vs. denormalization trade-offs.
• Advanced capability in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX development/optimization, and dashboard UX principles.
• Working knowledge of Python for data extraction, automation, and data processing tasks.
• Experience integrating data from varied sources (relational and NoSQL, APIs, files, third-party systems).
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, IT, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
