The BI Data Engineer or OBI/ODI developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) operational reports, dashboards, metrics and Data Integration (using ODI, PL/SQL, SQL).
This will be accomplished by working closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design, develop, test, and implement reports that rely upon data derived from the underlying data warehouse sources.
- Develop roadmap for enterprise wide Oracle BI applications and a data-warehouse platform.
- Define BI architecture and data warehouse strategy working closely with a 3rd party implementation partner to install, enable, test, and deploy an out of the box Oracle Business Intelligence Application (OBIA).
- Create, Manage, and maintain standard operational performance reports and dashboards for SuperApp, Payment, Credit, Finance, CX, Marketing, Budgeting, Business Operations, etc.
- Provide support to ensure the availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards.
- Provide technical assistance and training to other key staff members.
- Monitor technology and industry trends for new business intelligence opportunities.
- Development and maintenance of BI Publisher scripts.
- Work closely with OBI team members, SMEs, and Testers using Agile sessions to develop high BI data models to support reporting needs.
- Provide hands-on technical solutions to business challenges & translates them into process/technical solutions.
- Assist with the design, development, and delivery of OBIA/OBIEE application including ODI ELT, OBI Metadata Models, OBI Repository, and reports sharing/publishing.
- Interprets requirements, performs highly complex analyses, and presents options and recommendations to obtain desired results.
- Participate in code and design reviews and technical presentations to cross-functional staff.
- Assist with layouts, product support, devices, methods, or procedures.
- 3 years of relevant work experience with Oracle BI, ODI and PL/SQL
- 3 years' experience with OBIEE modeling techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or another technically relevant degree.
- Experience in the design and implementation of Oracle data warehouse.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a strong focus on customer service and solution ownership.
- Must have strong analytical skills and can demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of required processes for a successful implementation of all project life cycle stages from requirements gathering through implementation and enhancements.
- Analytic, creative, and self-motivated.
- Good knowledge of Oracle databases, UNIX environment, UNIX shell scripts, SQL and PL/SQL, and XML and encryption technologies.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple, dynamic priorities.
- Working knowledge of Mongodb and NoSqls a plus.
