Software Tester

Job Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Tester to join our team. The Tester will be responsible for evaluating software applications to ensure they meet the required standards and are free of defects. This role involves executing test cases, identifying and documenting bugs, and working closely with the development team to resolve issues. 

Key Responsibilities:


- Test Planning and Design:

Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on requirements and specifications.

Identify test scenarios and determine the appropriate testing approach.


- Test Execution:

Execute manual and automated test cases.

Functional, integration, and performance testing.

Validate that software changes meet functional and performance requirements.


- Bug Identification and Reporting:

Identify, document, and track software defects using appropriate tools.

Work with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.

Provide detailed bug reports and assist in root cause analysis.


- Quality Assurance:

Ensure that all delivered software meets the specified quality standards.

Review and analyze system specifications and user stories.

Provide feedback on the usability, functionality, and consistency of the software.


- Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements.

Communicate test results and findings clearly and effectively.

Participate in sprint planning and daily meetings.


- Continuous Improvement:

Contribute to the improvement of testing processes and methodologies.

Stay updated on the latest testing tools, techniques, and best practices.


Experience:

Proven experience as a Tester or similar role in software quality assurance.

Experience with test management and bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).

Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, QTP, JUnit).

Skills:

Strong understanding of software development and testing methodologies.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Familiarity with one of the API testing tools (Postman or Swagger).

Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, PHP).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, PHP) for test automation.

Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.


Work Environment:

This position may require occasional overtime and flexibility in work hours.

It may involve working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
