Full-Stack Developer (Python)

At Roomvu, you will help build and scale our video generation process. We generate many videos, and they must be high quality in terms of resolution and effects. As a video software engineer, you need to develop and maintain APIs for generating videos with a variety of attributes. In this role, you will use FFmpeg and Python to handle video processing tasks. Additionally, we have services developed with PHP (Laravel) that require familiarity for making necessary changes.

The salary for this position is negotiable. There will be an opportunity to immigrate to Canada (PR) for talented candidates.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the development team to design and optimize services.
- Maintain the legacy platform while developing new sections focused on Python.
- Work with UX and UI designers to implement features as designed.
- Write clean, readable, and stable code.
- Constructively review team members’ code and address issues in your own code.
- Investigate product defects, identify and fix root causes, and deploy fixes.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of team practices and procedures.
- Participate in all Scrum practices: sprint planning, daily standups, estimation, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience delivering innovative results in web development.
- Proficiency in Python, with a focus on working with video engine libraries.
- Experience with FFmpeg.
- Familiarity with HTTP Streaming formats (HLS).
- Proficient in Git.
- REST API design and development.
- Good spoken English and communication skills.
- Experience with Docker, Docker-compose, Microservices.

Nice to Have:
- PHP (Laravel) knowledge — experience with PHP will be considered a plus.
- Experience with Application Performance Management platforms like New Relic or DataDog.
- Experience in optimizing website performance, particularly in React.
- Experience with Next.js.
- Database architecture design.
