Data Analyst – Business Insights & Growth

About the Role:

We are seeking a Data Analyst (Mid-level / Senior) to join our Business Insights & Growth team. In this role, you'll leverage your analytical skills to create impactful data visualizations and provide data-driven insights that guide strategic decision-making across the organization. You’ll work on complex business challenges, providing valuable insights to optimize growth strategies, system performance, and business operations. The ideal candidate will be experienced in SQL, have a background in Business Intelligence (BI), and be adept at working with tools like Metabase.

Responsibilities:

Translate / Interpret:

• Transform business questions into clear quantitative queries that can be addressed with data.
• Develop sound methodologies for answering business-critical questions.

Measure / Quantify / Expand:

• Retrieve, synthesize, and present key data to provide actionable insights.
• Analyze historical data to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
• Enhance current methodologies by identifying new data sources and optimizing models.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define requirements for data pipelines and analytics platforms.

Explore / Enlighten:

• Identify anomalies and outliers in systems, and develop systematic methods to diagnose them.
• Use data analysis to explain anomalies and propose effective solutions.

Make Decisions or Recommendations:

• Build models that support business decisions and propose solutions to complex problems.
• Present findings through clear written reports and engaging verbal presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Develop dashboards and visualizations (preferably using Metabase) to track key business metrics and insights.

Requirements:

• Experience: 1+ years as a Data Analyst or in a similar role.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
• Experience with data visualization tools, particularly Metabase (or similar BI tools).
• Competency in Python (or other object-oriented languages) for data analysis is a plus.
• Business Acumen: Ability to translate data into meaningful business insights for growth and operational efficiency.
• Industry Experience: Prior experience in fintech or lending technology (lentech) industries is a strong plus.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science) from a top-ranked university is a plus.
• Strong communication skills to present findings clearly to different levels of stakeholders
