Opportunity Overview
We are seeking an experienced Equity Research Analyst with a strong foundation in fundamental company analysis and financial modeling to support equity investment decisions. The role focuses on in-depth analysis of publicly listed companies, development of robust financial and valuation models, and generation of high conviction investment insights. This role goes beyond traditional discretionary research. The ideal candidate will leverage fundamental, industry, and business insights to design, formalize, and continuously improve systematic quantitative models for stock selection.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth fundamental company analysis of listed companies in Iran capital market, including business models, competitive positioning, industry dynamics, management quality, revenue drivers, cost structures and regulatory exposures.
- Build and analyze detailed financial statement models (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) for covered equities.
- Perform equity valuation using DCF, residual income, and relative valuation techniques.
- Analyze financial statements to assess profitability, cash flow sustainability, capital structure, and accounting quality.
- Identify key value drivers and investment risks, incorporating company-specific, sector, and macro fundamental factors.
- Design, develop, and refine quantitative stock selection models that leverage fundamental, valuation, and quality-based signals.
- Translate accounting and financial statement insights into systematic scoring frameworks and ranking models for stock picking.
- Collaborate with quantitative team to back-test factor models and evaluate robustness, stability, and regime sensitivity.
- Support portfolio decision-making by integrating fundamental research with quantitative signals, factor exposures, and performance attribution.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in equity research, portfolio management, or investment analysis.
- Strong knowledge of industry dynamics within Iran Capital Market, supported by rigorous fundamental analysis of at least two industries.
- CFA Level I completed (or strong grounding in equity valuation and fundamental company analysis).
- Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency in financial statement modeling, accounting standards, and earnings quality analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Progress toward or completion of CFA Level II and III.
- Hands-on experience using Python for financial data analysis (including pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and APIs) and working knowledge of SQL
